The UNDP officially released the first 2010 Human Development Report for Latin America and the Caribbean at 9am Costa Rica time on Friday, July 23, 2010. The report, entitled: Update on the Future: Breaking the intergenerational transmission of inequality, reviews the causes of historical inequality in the region and proposes concrete and effective policies to break this vicious cycle. The report is a call to action today, for the future.
The world premiere of the report was held in San José, Costa Rica. The event was attended by President Laura Chinchilla, along with Rebecca Grynspan, Program Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Heraldo Muñoz, UNDP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
