UNESCO-IESALC strengthens its preconference Agenda
towards CRES 2018

UNESCO´s International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO-IESALC) has the pleasure to announce the development of the 3rd Regional Meeting on Higher Education (CRES) 2018 preconference Agenda. This stage corresponds to the organization of the scientific process, study, reflection, discussion and construction of the conference content.

The Regional Convention of recognition of studies ended its updating process
During the last 50 years, higher education (HE) has experienced important changes around the world in terms of migration dynamics and academic mobility. For this reason, UNESCO´s General Conference considered the need of updating all the regional conventions worldwide, in order to promote and facilitate academic mobility and work opportunities in an increasingly globalized world.

UNESCO-IESALC calls the 8th Meeting for University Networks and Councils of Chancellors in Latin America and the Caribbean
UNESCO-IESALC called the university networks and councils of chancellors –which represent close to1600 higher education institutions- as well as various actors in the field of HE in the region, to participate in this 8th meeting. The encounter will serve to articulate strategies about different projects and activities they carry out in the region, based on the 7th Meeting held in Guanajuato (Mexico) in 2015 and calling for the UNESCO Education Global Agenda 2030.

UNESCO-IESALC participates in the Regional Course on planning and formulation of education policies of IIEP-UNESCO
Pedro Henríquez Guajardo, Director of the UNESCO´s International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO-IESALC) participated this year, in the module called “Strategies and options of education policies: national and international debates” with a 30 minute virtual lecture in which he develops on the current tendencies and challenges in higher education (HE) in the region.
